I am 40 years old, married with 3 children 2 girls one boy. I have always lived in this area and went to Primary School in Larata which is on the main road to Wamba, I did my High School education in Maralal. I always wanted to be involved in guiding and went to Guiding School doing a short course at the Kenya Utali College, then 1 1/2 years at Lewa. From 1997 - 2000 I worked in the Ol Lolokwe Cultural Walking Safari company taking guided walks up our sacred mountain. In 2000 I came to work at Sarara and very much enjoy my job. I live in Larata Village and am a Samburu Elder.
Malachi
Malachi is 33 years old, he has a wife and 1 child. He works at Sarara as a guide and has been here for 4 1/2 years. Prior to this he was an assistant researcher with Save the Elaphant in Samburu Park and a driver in and around Nairobi. He went to school in Wamba where he also lives. He enjoys his work as a guide.
